Mandiri CEO, CFO get leadership awards

State-owned Bank Mandiri CEO Zulkifli Zaini and CFO Pahala N Mansury were presented Corporate Governance Awards for their leaderships in their daily running of the country's largest lender in terms of assets.
Zulkifli and Pahala were named Best CEO and Best CFO, respectively. The awards were presented at the Rennaisance Harbour View Hotel in Hong Kong by the organizer, the New Media Initiatives, a Hong Kong-based journal.
Besides awards for its leaders, Bank Mandiri was also awarded in the “best investor relationship website” and “best investor relationship company” categories.
"These awards mean that the bank has been applying the principles of good governance," Zulkifli Zaini told journalists on the sidelines of the award ceremony on Friday.
He that said in order to maintain the principles of good governance, good examples on the part of company leaders were required.
Pahala said the awards were a reminder that the bank had to maintain its award-winning standards.
"We still have many things to achieve; opening more microfinance outlets and penetrating the retail business being among them," he said.
He said the bank planned to open 300 microfinance outlets nationwide this year.
