Prison inmates assemble patrol ship

Inmates of Porong Penitentiary in Sidoarjo, East Java, have managed to assemble a patrol ship during serving their sentences in prison, an official says.
Law and Human Rights Ministry’s penitentiary director general Sihabudin said on Tuesday that the ship would be exhibited to the public for the first time on April 27 during the commemoration of correctional national day in Porong.
The patrol ship’s body is made of fiberglass and has two engines, he cited, adding that the ship is able to take up to 10 passengers on board.
“The speed can reach 40 knots,” he said in Bandung, West Java.
The ship could be used to patrol rivers or the sea, Sihabudin noted
